Annual Field Session in Maryland Archeology
Every year, generally in May, the Office of Archeology in cooperation with the Archeological Society of Maryland, Inc. co-sponsors an 11-day field session where the public can participate in a professionally-directed archeological dig. Locations vary throughout the state. You can participate for one day, or for the full eleven days. There is a small registration fee, and nearby room and board is available at reasonable cost most years. For more information on the field session, or on how to join the Archeological Society of Maryland, contact the Office of Archeology at 410-514-7661.
