Annual Field Session in Maryland Archeology

Excavations at a 15th century Indian village, Frederick Co.Every year, generally in May, the Office of Archeology in cooperation with the Archeological Society of Maryland, Inc. co-sponsors an 11-day field session where the public can participate in a professionally-directed archeological dig. Locations vary throughout the state. You can participate for one day, or for the full eleven days. There is a small registration fee, and nearby room and board is available at reasonable cost most years.
